What scientific measurement will make the quadrocopter Dragonfly on the surface of Saturn?
In 2034 on the surface of Titan – the largest moon of Saturn – the land the mission of Dragonfly. This is an advanced quadcopter can fly between a variety of interesting scientific locations. The maximum range mission scheduled for about 200 miles – much more than previous lunar or Mars unmanned mission.
The start of the mission Dragonfly occurred in June 2019. The launch mission is scheduled for April 2026. The interplanetary probe will rotate around the Solar system, gradually accelerating with the help of gravity near the Earth and Venus. After the last flight (past the Earth in March 2031), the probe will go directly to the Saturn system.
NASA reported that Dragofly will begin its mission from the region where Huygens landed. This European boarding craft landed on Titan’s surface in January 2005. Landing site “sandy” – is considered to be safe to start the mission. This region appears to be similar to some terrestrial sand dunes. One of the proposed goals of the mission is the crater of the Village, which appears to be geologically young.
