A new study conducted by astronomers at the University of Pennsylvania, calls into question the existence of the ninth planet, says New Scientist. 2014 scientists have tried to find an explanation for the strange behavior of small celestial bodies that revolve around our star beyond Neptune. They argued that these comic objects can influence the gravitational pull of the huge planet, whose mass is five times greater than the Earth. Others have come to the conclusion that the ninth planet is just a cluster of asteroids, comets and other small celestial bodies.
Now, however, scientists analyzed data collected by a visual and infrared survey conducted in the Observatory in Chile. They found no evidence of accumulation of any “unusual TRANS-Neptunian objects” — celestial bodies beyond Neptune.
According to our data, the existence of a ninth planet was even more unlikely, but considering the research of other scientists, the hope, albeit very little, but remains, — said astronomer from the University of Pennsylvania.
This scientist led the other study, published in March, stating that he found 139 space objects in the Solar system. However these heavenly bodies are too small to be considered a “proper planet”.

However, proponents of the hypothesis about the existence of a ninth planet still believe and hope. According to them, astronomers simply do not have enough data to find the object.
