Hyundai has developed airbags from multiple blows

Usually during car accidents occur not one but several beats. The airbag could save the lives of occupants during the initial collision, but they are risking serious injury if it will be followed by shocks from other vehicles. According to the National highway traffic control, this happens in 30% of road accidents. Therefore, car manufacturers should be protected from multiple strikes, and the first step in this matter was made by the Hyundai company.

Company representatives noticed that modern airbag system does not protect people during the re-shock when the first collision did not cause actuation of the main pillow. New technology quickly recognizes the unusual location of the bodies of the driver and passengers after the first push and release the secondary cushion with rigidity-dependent shock.

According to the head of technology center Hyundai the Taes Chi, the company intends to continue to explore a variety of emergency situations to develop the most reliable security technologies. In 2018, it has already improved system of airbags in accidents with overturning. In particular, she equipped the car with a sensor to recognize their position in space and added pillows to the back of the cabin and on the ceiling.

If during an accident the angle of the car changes or it is overturned, the sensor detects this, and an inflator device deploys the airbag, — explained representatives of the company.

According to the National traffic control NHTSA, 30% of the accidents occur due to crossing a solid line. About 13% of collisions occur when one of the members of the movement stops abruptly on the road. Also accidents quite often occur in the middle lane, or the drivers simply crash into trees or fences.

What do you think, at what we have to work with the car manufacturers?
